description | Support during the regular activities for children organised by day care centers, and organisation and conduction of other activities aimed at learning in a playful and interactive way. |
Please describe the activity and its context. How does it relate to solidarity and the European Solidarity Corps principles? What is the European added value of the activity?
The activity implies creating interactive and playful activities for children, in accordance with the specific context of the day care center.
How have you identified the need for this activity? What are the societal challenges that you are planning to address?
The aim is to support the regular functioning of day care centers for children in the local context through diverse activities that put the children in contact with European volunteers.
What are the tasks that the volunteers will typically carry out? What will be their role and how will they be involved in the activities?
Volunteers need to coordinate with the teachers in order to develop and carry out suitable activities for the specific group of children. Most importantly, volunteers interact directly with children and propose activities for their entertainment and learning.
How will the volunteers benefit from taking part in the activity?
Volunteers learn about the specific local context in which day care centers for children are situated. It is an opportunity to comprehend how such facilities are organised in the territory and understand their needs. Moreover, it is a learning experience related to children education.
How will the activity benefit the target groups and/or the local comm-unity and the organisations involved?
The day care centers benefit from receiving support in their regular activities and have the opportunity to learn from volunteers with a different cultural and educational background. Children, instead, benefit by being exposed to alternative teaching methods and by meeting young volunteers from a different country.
If applicable, please also explain how you are planning to limit or prevent unintended negative effects of the activities and how you will comply with the ‘do no harm principle’
It is necessary to be mindful of the necessities of children with special needs while planning and carrying out the activities. In general, it is important to adopt a careful and open attitude when working with children.
